# Text Variables

Text Variables are used to insert dynamic information into the notifications for things that cannot be predetermined. For example, time of incident, date of incident, location etc.
To create a Text Variable:
* 	Go to the main text variable screen and press “ADD”
* 	Choose the text variable type you want to create (Text / Choices / Choices with Acronyms / Time / Date).
* 	Give a name to the Text variable
* 	If the selected type is “Choices” or “Choices with Acronyms” type the available choices.
* 	Click “SAVE” and the Text Variable is created.

Text variables can be written in multiple languages.
**TEXT**: It is used to insert a text field into the notification templates 
**DATE**: It is used to insert a date picker into the notification templates 
**TIME**: It is used to insert a time picker into the notification templates
**CHOICES**: It is used to insert a list of predefined options into the notification templates.
